Badlands

In the heart of the Oltrepò Pavese, within the municipality of Colli Verdi, lie the striking gullies visible from Mombelli, in the hamlet of Valverde. These unique geological formations are among the area's most fascinating landscape features, shaped over time by the combined erosive action of rainwater and wind on the clayey, friable soil.

The badlands appear as deep grooves in the ground along the sides of the hills, with sharp crests and steep walls that alternate in an almost sculptural design, of great visual impact.
